1. Insert XTend-A-Step into the hitch receiver.
2. Assemble the lock and lock brackets.
3. Insert the lock either above or below the hitch receiver.
4. Align the bracket pins into the indents.
5. Secure the lock.
6. Attach the coil cord into the power outlet.
7. Compress the XTend-Step into the hitch receiver and attach the safety catch to the bottom of the step casing.
8. XTend-A-Step is now ready to use and will extend beyond the tailgate for use as a step.
